My First Dictionary

Many thanks to JudiJ for sending me a link to My First Dictionary, a blog by British librarian Ross Horsley, who comes up with definitions like the one above most days of the week.
Horsley's blog is very dark and very funny and I love it. You'll find it here.

This is definitely going in my favourites list.
By the way, I found Simon Singh's The Code Book at the library. Have read 2 chapters, and am finding it hard to put down. It's very interesting historically, as well as all the code info. Thanks for the tip.

It's a great book, isn't it? I had a go at the Cipher Challenge up the back but only got up to Stage 4. Maybe it's time to revisit.

Sorry you didn't enjoy it Gail. I don't think it's an age thing, I should imagine all sorts of people will find it too close to the bone.

He's also the author of Anchorwoman In Peril, one of my favourite blogs. Can't believe I haven't checked this one out yet!

I thought it was you who told me about Anchorwoman. I had another quick look at it after I'd checked out the Dictionary. See you tonight...

I think "funny" is not quite appropriate; maybe "deeply insightful" would be more to the point. Darkly humerous, perhaps.
