Ella the Wonder Dog

Meet Ella, our golden retriever, posing here with her favourite toy on her head.
Ella is nearly 10 years old and has an inverted vulva and a very small brain.
The vulva thing means she wees backwards, which is no biggie if you don't mind washing her nether regions on a regular basis.
I say "you" but I mean "me". My husband loves this dog so much he'd give her one of his kidneys but for some reason he draws the line at washing her bum.
The very small brain poses bigger problems but only if you venture outside Ella World, which encompasses the house, the garden, the park and the beach.
Ella is frightened of the ironing board. This probably tells you everything you need to know.
She likes to be surrounded by familiar things, even better if they are as close to her person as possible.
Which is why we have roughly 10,000 photos like the one above but none of her posing on top of Everest.

I second the remarks above re: your retiring. Thanks for all the laughs over the years. I was so happy when I heard you had moved to Albany (we call it Albania, it is a family thing) and when you picked our vet's ute with the 8 seconds ... bumper tag - that was very good.

Anyway, I'll be reading you here. I hope you enjoy retirement - I've found it ain't all its cracked up to be - but that's just me.

Once I get my own blog going, which may or may not happen in the next 5 years, well maybe there will be a link?

What is a blurker? (Dee's comment) I'm guessing a blog stalker?

Oh yes, my dog is terrified of the ironing board - it is wonderful, I can't possibly iron as it scares the dog.

Lol. Aww cute dog :) Little known fact, I am also afraid of ironing boards (and Everest. I hear it's cold.)

Thanks again, Michelle.

We'll miss you, having read your columns for years and years. Judging by the pic of you which has always accompanied them and remained that of a twenty-something writer, my wife and I were surprised to see the new pic of you today, and to learn that you are in Albany which is our favourite place.

Good luck to you and your family, and keep writing!
